The Life of Josiah

2 Chronicles 34:1

If you were to travel to Israel today and go to the graveyard in the garden of Megiddo, in the valley of Megiddo, you would see there the place where Josiah is said to be buried. And if you could read the large plaque that is in the front of his grave, you would understand immediately how he is revered in the history of his people. For inscribed on that stone plaque in front of Josiah's grave, in the words of the Hebrew language, are these words: "The remembrance of Josiah is like the perfume of the apothecary and his name is like music at a banquet of wine. For his pure and holy youth, Jehovah was his shield in the hour of temptation until he behaved himself rightly in the conversion of his people, and until he took away all of their abominations of iniquity. He directed his heart to the Lord. He established the worship of God, and all because his heart was so tender."
