Gone

Colossians 2:14

A sign on a company bulletin board in Grand Rapids reads: "To err is human; to forgive is not company policy." Fortunately, this sign was not posted above the cross; otherwise, the human race would have no hope for eternity. But we have been forgiven at the cross if we have trusted Christ as Savior. John 3:16 says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life." What Christ did on the cross assures us that our sins have been forgiven. All trespasses have been forgiven, because "He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross" (2:14). We should live each day knowing our sins are not just forgiven but gone. If Paul—with his murderous, treacherous past—could live this truth, so can we all!
